The ability to secure a building or home has become a major concern of businesses (big and small) and homeowners. Common is the old Smash and Grab technique. Items such as computers, VCR's, purses, etc. left near a window, are often fast, easy targets for burglars. In less time than it takes to open a door, and thief can smash the window and grab the valuables. Customers with large display windows and storefronts are often key targets for these criminals. In the time it takes the police to respond to an alarm, the glass has been broken, the valuables lifted, and the escape made. Also affected are homes with sidelights. As fire restrictions become tighter, and liability becomes more of a concern, the use of double deadbolts near glass is decreasing. This, of course, makes these entry ways vulnerable to smashing the glass and turning the inside lock to open the door. These films can be clear, or contain alloys to reduce the heat, glare, and 99% of the UV rays. All of our films conform to the impact resistance guidelines set forth by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z97). We now have a New Llumar 15-mil that passes the UL 972 security test standard. Film South can install the film quickly, without a mess, and without interrupting normal daily activities.
